Lawn turf – Preparing Your Ground for Turfing

The correct preparation of your ground is essential before you lay new turf, to ensure the future well being of your lawn. Here are a few steps you can take to prepare your ground.
  1. Remove any existing turf by slicing beneath grass with a spade or turf cutter.
  2. Turn over the soil thoroughly to a depth of 15cm. This can be done using a spade or powered cultivator.
  3. Clear the area of any weeds, stones and other debris.

Lawn Turf – How Often Should I Mow My Lawn?

This is a common question that we are asked here at Easylawn and it depends on the time of year. Grass will usually grow at its peak in Spring and Autumn, so during these times your lawn turf should really me mowed at least once a week. In the Summer however, rainfall is limited so therefore it may only be necessary to mow your lawn every other week.
